Privacy Policy

CorpsXtra (“we,” “our,” or “the Site”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We’ve tried to write this in plain English rather than legalese, but it has to cover a lot of ground because privacy laws in different countries require it to.

Who we are

CorpsXtra is a reader-supported publication covering B2B growth, tools, and tactics. The site is edited from Los Angeles, California, and operated by Felix Jan-Andrewson as a sole proprietor. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Felix Jan-Andrewson is the “data controller” for any personal data collected through this site. For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we are the “business.”

Information we collect

Information you give us voluntarily

The main piece of personal data we collect is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter. Nothing else. We don’t ask for your name, phone number, address, birthday, or any other personal identifier at the point of subscription. If you email us directly, we naturally receive whatever information is in your email, including your email address and any contents you write.

Information we collect automatically

Like almost every website on the internet, our web server (hosted with Hostinger) automatically records basic technical information about visits to the site. This includes:

• Your IP address
• Your browser type and version (User Agent string)
• The operating system your device is running
• The pages you visit on our site and the time you spend on each
• The URL of the page that referred you to us (Referer header), if any
• Timestamps of your visits

This information is standard server log data. It’s used to monitor site performance, diagnose errors, and detect abuse (bot scraping, denial-of-service attempts). It is not tied to your identity.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies. Specifically:

• Essential cookies — a small localStorage entry that remembers whether you’ve toggled the site into dark mode. This is stored in your browser, not on our servers, and we never read it back. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser storage.
• Affiliate network cookies — when you click an outbound affiliate link, the destination merchant or their affiliate network (for example Amazon, PartnerStack, Impact, ShareASale, Awin, CJ) may set a cookie in your browser to attribute any resulting purchase to us. We do not set these cookies ourselves; they are set by the merchant when you follow the link. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.

We do not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels. If we add analytics in the future (for example a privacy-friendly service like Plausible or Fathom), we will update this section and describe exactly what is collected.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect for a small number of specific purposes:

• To send you the newsletter you signed up for.
• To respond to emails you send us.
• To operate the site — serve pages, prevent abuse, diagnose technical issues.
• To understand aggregate reading patterns (which posts are read most, which ones aren’t) using server log data. This is done in aggregate and does not identify individual readers.
• To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and defend our legal rights.

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to anyone. We do not use your information to build a profile of you for advertising purposes. We do not share your email with other publications or affiliate networks.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the small number of service providers we need to operate the site, and only to the extent necessary for them to do their job. Specifically:

• Hostinger — our web host, which processes server log data as part of hosting the site.
• Our email service provider — the platform we use to send the newsletter (for example Buttondown, ConvertKit, MailerLite, or similar; we will name the specific provider once selected) processes your email address for the sole purpose of delivering the emails you subscribed to.
• Legal authorities — if required by court order, subpoena, or other legal process, we will disclose information as legally compelled.

When you click an outbound link, you leave our site and enter the destination site’s environment, where their privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how third-party sites handle your data.

How long we keep your information

Server log data is retained for approximately 90 days for operational and security purposes, then rotated out of active storage. Email subscription data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our active list within 24 hours. Support emails and their contents are retained for as long as needed to handle the correspondence and any reasonable follow-up.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom (GDPR)

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct it if it is inaccurate; delete it (the “right to be forgotten”); restrict our processing of it; object to processing; and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email felix@corpsxtra.com from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how we use it; access that information; delete it; correct it; and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right exists in principle). To exercise these rights, email felix@corpsxtra.com.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA.

Everyone else

If you’re outside the EU, UK, or California, you may still request access to or deletion of your data by emailing felix@corpsxtra.com. We will handle your request in the spirit of GDPR and CCPA whether or not those specific laws apply to you.

Children’s privacy

CorpsXtra is written for a business audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International data transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you access this site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the site, you consent to this transfer. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. The site is served over HTTPS with an SSL certificate. Server access is limited and password-protected. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new services we add, or changes in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for changes that materially affect your rights, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.

We recommend reviewing this page periodically. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
